Astro for Facebook Messenger Free App Reviews

Application is really great. But why does it work only few minutes? Every time I try it - it opens, works, but in 4-5 minutes closes with no notification.

i dont know what it is but any time i try to upload an image and send it, nothing happens. the image dissapears and my message is never sent. until this is fixed, 3.

Helps me attack Facebook messages so much easier. Pretty slick UI - could have some more features but what it does it does EXTREMELY WELL.

Good lookin/workin app you got here. Streamlines the Facebook process so I’m really glad I found out.

A couple of feature requests: 1) Give the option to shrink the window to a narrow vertical panel (maybe just with profile pictuers?), like iMessage. 2) Integrate messages from Pages you manage simultaneously. ***For this option I’d gladly pay $10 since I also manage 3 FB Pages and hate cycling/swapping between logins in order to answer messages coming to the pages.*** Also, it appears to quit/crash randomly? I have emailed their support team twice and haven’t gotten any replies, so I downgraded from 4 to 2 stars since the crashing thing is still happening and they don’t appear to care about trying to help trouble shoot. Also “lightening fast” means "it gets lighter faster." “Lightning fast” means "fast as lightning." Just saying.

The message system is simple to use, and exactly what is advertised. It is perfect for staying off of Facebook, letting you keep in touch, and remain productive.

I don’t go on Facebook often but I do chat with my friends and this is perfect for talking to friends. The notification comes up on the side and it’s in the status bar. Very convenient, awesome UI, and the themed chat bubbles rule!

I am a computer technician, running a 15” macbook pro with 16gb of ram and this program simply will not stay open, or operate correctly. It’s buggy… it crashes… It has promise… in fact, it looks great when it runs, but for now it’s more trouble than it is worth. For now, I will continue to link my Facebook messages through “messages” (ichat) with "jabber".

The UI is stuttery and doesnt feel fluid. e.g. no rubberbanding or other refinements youd expect. It supports color themes for the window the chats appear in, but most annoying, it launches another window that just sits there in the dock. I have no idea what its supposed to show because its empty. Im a little paranoid so I think its probably there to pop junk up on my screen? Doesnt seem to work right anyway, so... yeah. Biggest thing that bugs me about this though other than the stuttery UI and jerkiness - No stickers! Its stupid, I know its stupid, but the only reason Id want to use a Facebook chat program other than Messages or Adium (because if I just want to use chat Ill use a jabber/XMPP client) and IM with Facebook users is that I want to see the stickers and send them back as well. Not files on my computer. The Facebook stickers. That fox! And that cat! The cat is KNEADING THINGS WITH HIS PAWS. My impression is that this app isnt a chat program as much as a wrapper for the web chat system on Facebooks site? But without the Facebook ads, though it attempts to show their own in a window that doesnt work like they had hoped, and without the benefit of the one thing that youd want to use Facebook native chat for. Stickers.

This just kept making me go in a circle. Told me to sign in with facebook, I did, then it brought up a message screen with nothing in it. Quickly shut down, then when I tried to open it again, it just went back to the sign in page. Repeat this process and this is the APP that you downloaded. BAD APP!!

Well, other than that it’s get the job done.

It’s okay, but nothing too cool. I like it bc this way I don’t have to get onto FB and see all the posts I don’t care about. However, it does seem to be buggy sometimes, and doesn’t seem to “wow” me at all. It’s a good idea, and I think they’re on the right track.

It’s largely a really good app with one HUGE flaw that overshadows everything good about it. The app doesn’t save what you type. Generally, if you’re typing short messages and hit send right afterwards, it isn’t an issue. Here’s where it becomes a problem though, and a huge problem at that: if you are switching between windows (i.e. multitasking… who does that, right??) astro will refresh it’s connection and erase EVERYTHING you typed. Or if for any reason your internet connection resets, astro will erase everything you typed. Fix this, it could be a great app. Leave it broken and people should look elsewhere.

This app works great with FaceBook on my Apple computer. No problems at all!!!!

I really like the idea of having a separate fb chat client with group chat support. I’d love to use this app every day but unfortunatelly I can’t cause it just keeps crashing and closing itself randomly… sometimes it can work for serveral hours without any crash, sometimes it just keeps closing itself again and again very often. Additionally the UI is not ideal too, I personally don’t like the huge text field on the bottom and all these huge text fonts and margins between literally everything, it’s ok to have them by default but there should be an ability to change all of this.

The application is stable for me. It would be great if the application can change the font style by the user.

Please fix, unusable after the recent update. Still doesn’t work after 1.07. I’m on a Macbook pro 15 (early 2013 retina). It just hangs while trying to login, and then crashes if I click anywhere in it.

The small bug fix broke the app.

After updating to the 1.107 version, the app now hangs when trying to log in to Facebook. Please fix!

I hate, hate, HATE the new update to the app. It has made it completely unusable. The addition of the “Online” list on the right has made it impossible to use this application on my Macbook Air because the window is not big enough to view the current conversation you are viewing. Without an update to fix this, I find this application completely useless and will be uninstalling until a fix has been made. POINTLESS.
